Our Story
Why We Started Pare Wound Health
We founded Pare Wound Health in 2024 — before the CMS rule change, before the reimbursement crisis — because we kept seeing the same problem: wound care suppliers who treated podiatry practices like line items. They'd pitch a product, close the deal, and vanish the moment something went wrong with a claim or a shipment. Nobody was investing in the relationship after the first order.
Robert built a team that could. Between them, the founding team brings 80+ years of healthcare experience: strategy work at McKinsey and the White House OMB, hands-on physician practice management across 30+ wound care practices, and CFO-level healthcare finance at Baptist Health, Vanderbilt, and Fresenius. They didn't come from device sales. They came from the operational side — the side that knows what breaks when reimbursement changes, when billing gets denied, when a patient's dressing doesn't show up.
When CMS moved to a flat $127.14/cm² rate in January 2026 and upended the entire skin substitute market, Pare Wound Health was already built for exactly that moment — not because we predicted the rule, but because we'd always believed the right model was service-first, not margin-first.

Robert Stillwell, JD, M.Acc.
Co-Founder & CEO
Robert brings 16+ years of experience in healthcare strategy, population health, and digital health innovation. Before founding Pare Wound Health, he served as a senior leader at the White House Office of Management and Budget, where he shaped national healthcare policy, and as a consultant at McKinsey & Company's London office, advising U.S. and European payers and providers on healthcare strategy. He has worked alongside institutions including Mayo Clinic, Johns Hopkins, Cleveland Clinic, Stanford Health Care, Scripps Health, Memorial Sloan Kettering, NYU Langone, Rothman Orthopaedics, Thomas Jefferson University, and Apple Health.
Ryan Stillwell
Co-Founder
Ryan brings 15+ years of experience in physician practice management, with deep specialization in Medicare billing, credentialing, compliance, and wound care reimbursement. He works with 30+ physician practices focused on wound care and podiatry, and has direct experience navigating ALJ hearings, local Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC) policy, and payer credentialing.

Robert K. Stillwell brings over 50 years of experience in healthcare finance, operations, and supply chain strategy. He has held CFO and executive roles at Baptist Health, Vanderbilt, Fresenius Medical Care, and multiple renal care organizations. A founding team member of multiple successful healthcare ventures.
